Weddle has spent the last three seasons with the Ravens, where he has earned a Pro Bowl selection in each campaign to push it to six overall in his career. However, he had some drop off in his production that led to him posting a career-low three pass deflections along with finishing third on the team with 68 tackles.
The 34-year-old was also in the final year of his contract, which had a base salary of $6.5 million. The decision to part ways with him has now created $7.5 million in salary cap space this offseason.

Weddle is now set to hit the free agent market for the second time in his career as he will have plenty of suitors looking to acquire his services. He has proven to be one of the game’s top players at his position while showing he has plenty left in the tank to play at a high level.
There is no shortage of teams that are looking for help in the secondary that could see him garner yet another lucrative deal in free agency in the coming days.
