Ravens safety Earl Thomas admits team is sick of Browns hype
Throughout much of the offseason and the first few weeks of the season, the Cleveland Browns have been the talk of the league.
The Browns have faltered through the first three games holding a 1-2 record, but that hasn’t stopped the chatter around the team. In light of all that noise, Baltimore Ravens Pro Bowl safety Earl Thomas has voiced that his team had grown tiresome about all talk, according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN.
“The media was talking about OBJ and that tandem and Baker Mayfield, the next savior,” Thomas said Wednesday. “Then, to add on to that, Coach [John Harbaugh] talked about it a couple of times in meetings. So guys kind of got tired about it.”
It is clear that all of this discussion has also grown to be an annoyance for other teams to have to continue to constantly hear. Thomas and Ravens are just the next team to have to deal with it heading into their matchup in Week 4 action.
This had seen the entire offseason seeing the hype around the Browns that had many projecting that they would win the AFC North while possibly contending for the Super Bowl. However, this slow start to the season has halted that chatter significantly while quickly shifting the perception to them being a disappointment.
The Ravens have a chance to put a larger dent in those aspirations at home while rebounding from falling short against the Kansas City Chiefs. If anything, all of this only provides Baltimore with more motivation to push them past Cleveland.
