Ravens WR Odell Beckham Jr. admits he needs to be better
During the NFL offseason, before the Baltimore Ravens were able to see eye-to-eye with superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson on a contract extension, the team was able to come to terms with superstar wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. The addition of Beckham was thought to be a game-changer for the passing game. Although it hasn’t turned out that way after five weeks.
In three games, the veteran wideout has caught only seven passes for 79 yards without a touchdown. That’s not the kind of production a team wants out of a player that comes with a high price tag.

Along with battling injuries, Beckham admits he’s got to be better on the football field and takes full accountability for his poor play thus far in Baltimore via ESPN.
“There’s so many things that you have to adapt to, but there’s no time for excuses or putting blame here or there,” Beckham said Thursday after the Ravens’ practice at the Tottenham training ground. “I’m a man, I take my wins with my losses. I just got to come out and just be better, plain and simple.”
Fortunately for Beckham, he’s still got time to turn things around this season. The team is within striking distance of winning the AFC North. He knows he’s got a chance to get on track.

“It’s a long season,” he said. “It’s about catching fire when you’re supposed to, it’s about everything coming together at the right time. So you do have to be optimistic about the season, and that’s where I’m trying to stay in that mindset of there’s a lot of opportunities. No team won a Super Bowl in Week 5 or 6.”
It’ll be interesting to see if Beckham can get back to form and become that game-changer the Ravens thought he’d be this season.
