Seahawks teammates can’t resist making fun of Russell Wilson’s contract video

In recent weeks, the attention around the Seattle Seahawks has been on the future of quarterback Russell Wilson. Russell Wilson was set to enter the final year of his contract.

The speculation came to an end earlier this week with Russell Wilson taking to Twitter late at night. He posted a video to announce a new deal had been completed. Wilson’s teammates, Tyler Lockett and D.J. Fluker, couldn’t help but make fun of the way Wilson chose to make his announcement laying in bed.

All fun aside, the Seahawks now have their franchise quarterback in place. For the foreseeable future, Wilson is the face of the team. Wilson appears happy and who could blame him considering he’ll make $2 million more a year than Aaron Rodgers who signed his extension to become the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL.

Since entering the league, Wilson has provided the team with tremendous stability that includes reaching the playoffs all but once in his first seven years in the league. This includes winning one of two trips to the Super Bowl in the process.

Wilson has been everything and more for the Seahawks, which has been the focal point of the franchise and has lifted them to great heights. Only time will tell if this is ultimately the right move for Seattle as it has seemed as though rebuilding is on their mind, but both sides appear content moving forward into what could be a promising future in Seattle.
