Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers reveals plans for NFL retirement
Star quarterback Aaron Rodgers has all but made it clear that the 2025 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers will likely be the last of his illustrious career.
With that notion remaining firm, Rodgers already has a picture of what his retirement process will look like as he plans to retire as a Green Bay Packer.
“I was there for 18 years,” Rodgers said of his time in Green Bay via ESPN. “Regardless of when I hang it up, that’s the bulk of my career. I’ll retire a Packer and see what happens after that. I’ve got a lot of love for the organization [and] my time there. They asked this week is it a revenge game or whatever. What do I got to be avenging here? They made me a ton of money. I grew up there, spent some of the best years of my life there. I’ve got nothing but love for the organization.”
It isn’t surprising that this is the direction Rodgers wants to go, given that he has spent almost his entire career with the Packers. He put forth a first-ballot Hall of Fame career in Green Bay, where he led the franchise to a Super Bowl win, won four MVP trophies, earned 10 Pro Bowl selections, and set numerous NFL records.

Although there were rocky times toward the end of his tenure, Rodgers should be welcomed back into the organization with open arms. He is one of the league’s greatest quarterbacks and holds a set place in the franchise’s pantheon.
