Patriots Vs. Broncos, Brady Vs. Manning

It is one of the most anticipated games of the season, when arguably the two best quarterback playing in the NFL go head-to-head in Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. Both the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots have great records, the Pats are 6-2, while the Broncos are 6-1.

The Broncos have been dominaing the AFC and with a win today they would have successfully have beaten all their competition in the conference. This means that with a win, though not etched in stone, the Broncos will likely be the AFC No.1 seed.

The Broncos are 10-3 against the spread as road favorites of three points or more since Manning joined the team.

If the Patriots beat the Broncos not only will it put the Pats as the best team in the AFC on paper, but also in the eyes of sports fans everywhere, except maybe in Denver. The Patriots are 2-1 against the Broncos since Manning joined the team back in 2012.

Betting trends also give Patriots the edge. The Pats are 3.5-point underdogs at home. They are 14-3 against the spread as home underdogs. Four of those wins come with Manning as quarterback.

The total is set at 51 points over at Bovada, but some betting sites have it listed as high as 55. While both quarterbacks are known for their offensive potency bettors seem to be favoring the under in this one.

As good as Manning and Brady are, the game will really come down to a battle between their secondaries. Whichever team’s defense can slow down the passing attack of the other will be the victor in this one. The Broncos defense is ranked No. 4 in the NFL, while the Pats are ranked 14th.

The game starts at 4:25 p.m. ET on CBS locally.
