The Chicago Bulls are one of the few teams in the Eastern Conference this season that can compete with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Although the Bulls are a talented team with a legitimate chance of taking the Cavaliers the distance in a seven-game series in the playoffs this year, two of the team’s biggest stars see some flaws that need to be fixed immediately.

Two-time NBA champion Pau Gasol is one of the veterans on the team with championship experience, and he believes the Bulls lack discipline. Gasol said the following about his team following the loss to the Los Angeles Clippers via ESPN:

“We’re not disciplined,” Gasol said. “Yep. We’re not. That’s it. It’s true. It’s a fact.”

jimmy Butler also shared the same sentiment after the 27-point loss to the Clippers on Sunday via ESPN:

“We’re letting guys do whatever they want to do out there,” All-Star swingman Jimmy Butler said. “Not putting bodies on people, not rebounding, letting guys get to their strengths. That’s the will if you want to. Defense is all about toughness. When we’re not guarding anybody, we don’t look very tough.”

After falling to the Clippers in convincing fashion on Sunday, the Bulls are now 26-20 and have lost six out of their last 10 games. Chicago may not be out of the running in the East, but it seems clear that changes need to be made if this squad is going to compete come playoff time.

Currently, the Toronto Raptors and Bulls sit behind the Cavaliers as top-tier teams in the running to win an NBA titles this year. Cleveland leads the way with 13/4 odds followed by the Raptors and Bulls at 40/1, according to Sportsbook.ag.

It’s no surprise the defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors are still favored to win it all with 20/27 odds.
