Pitt will face Clemson in ACC Championship

There is still one week of regular season football to be played, but we’ve already got a few of the league title game matchups decided. We’ve known for a few weeks that Alabama will take on Georgia in the SEC’s championship game. Now we know who will be playing for the ACC title as well.
Clemson wrapped up the Atlantic division last week with a win over Boston College. Saturday, the other half of the conference was decided.
Pittsburgh, after taking down Wake Forest, will represent the Coastal in the league title game. Pitt is currently 6-1 in the league with an overall record of 7-4.
Their 52-22 rout of Virginia Tech last week in Pittsburgh helped them move even further away from the rest of the division, but the win over the Demon Deacons clinched it.
Pitt’s only loss in conference came, oddly enough, against North Carolina. It is currently the Tar Heels’ only ACC victory.
The game will take place on December 1. Clemson will likely be playing for another trip to the College Football Playoff. Pitt will be playing spoiler.
