Playoff Games Set: Western Conference
The NBA playoff pictures has finally come out of the dark room and is fully developed and it is time to begin looking at the NBA betting odds that are currently available.
Game odds for the opening playoff series have not yet opened. The odds will go up the closer we inch to Saturday, but we can start analysis by looking at the current future odds.
Focusing on the Western Conference, the every team in the Southwest made the playoffs after the New Orleans Pelicans had the stars align yesterday and held on to the No. 8 seed that was being threatened by the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The No.1 seed in the West is the Golden State Warriors. They also sit atop the current odds to win the Western Conference title and go on to the NBA Championship game at 11/10. They will face off against the Pelicans, who sit at the bottom of the odds at 75/1. The Warriors won the season series, 3-1.
The Houston Rockets, the No. 2 seeded team, will open up their playoff run against the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavs are 22/1 to win the Western Conference, while the Rockets are 8/1, the third best in the West. Houston won the season series, 3-1.
The San Antonio Spurs had an 11-game win streak snapped to end their season, however, they were not playing for a whole lot yesterday and we doubt they are done cooling off. The Spurs have the second best odds at winning the West at 2/1. They will face off against the Los Angeles Clippers who have the fourth best odds at 9/1. This is the most evenly matched series of the first round. Unlike the other games in the first round where the higher seeded teams won the season series, the season series between the Clippers and Spurs is tied at 2-2.
The Memphis Grizzlies hold a 4-0 season series win over the young Portland Trail Blazers. The Grizzlies are 12/1 to win the West, while the Blazers are tied with the second worst odds at 22/1.
The NBA Playoffs start this Saturday.
