Rex Ryan Says Bills ‘Definitely Expect To Be In The Playoffs’
After six seasons with the New York Jets, head coach Rex Ryan and the franchise parted ways following the 2014 NFL season. Ryan’s future was up in the air heading into the offseason, but it didn’t take long before he found a new home in the same division.
Ryan is now at the helm of the Buffalo Bills in the AFC East and is currently brimming with confidence with the start of his 2015 season only a few weeks away. Although Ryan is dealing with shaky quarterback situation he believes the team will be playoff bound at season’s end, via Vic Carucci of The Buffalo News:

Along with star running back LeSean McCoy dealing with a hamstring injury, and a number of other backs on the team also injured, Ryan has yet to name a new starting quarterback for the Bills. It is currently a three-man race between EJ Manuel, Matt Cassel and Tyrod Taylor with no decision as of yet on who will be under center for Buffalo in Week 1.
Ryan recently spoke about the quarterback situation in Buffalo and claims this is exactly the way he wanted it to go, via NFL.com:
“This was the scenario I wanted,” he said, per the team’s transcript. “I wanted a scenario where all three guys performed at a high level and I think we have. When you look at the games that I think all three guys have performed at a really high level, and so that’s what exactly I was wanting. If I was a betting man going in to it would I have said that? I’m not sure. But I’m glad it’s working out the way it is.”
According to Sportsbook.ag, the Bills have 5/1 odds to win the AFC East division. Not having a starting quarterback with the third preseason game approaching isn’t a great sign nor will it help the team’s playoff odds at this point in time.
Unsurprisingly, the Miami Dolphins (3/1) and New England Patriots (2/3) are currently ahead of the Bills in terms of odds to win the division title and that won’t change unless Buffalo proves to be a force to be reckoned with on both sides of the football.
