Sam Bradford Will Get The Start For Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings have had Sam Bradford on a crash course to learn Norv Turner’s offense the past couple of weeks. Shaun Hill started in Week 1, but that doesn’t appear to be the case heading into the team’s pivotal battle with the Green Bay Packers.

Ben Goessling of ESPN is reporting Bradford is “expected to start” Sunday when the Vikings christen their new stadium against the Packers.

This news is hardly surprising, since Bradford took every single first-team snap during practice this week.

Hill was rather bland during his start in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans, completing 18-of-33 passes for just 236 yards. He didn’t throw a touchdown, but he didn’t throw an interception either.

Because Hill was so ineffective at pushing the ball downfield, the Titans keyed in on Adrian Peterson, who had one of his worst days as a pro.

Bradford has the arm to stretch opposing defenses vertically, which should open up running lanes for last year’s NFL-leading rusher.

It’s going to be fascinating to watch Bradford work with a new team, just weeks after he was preparing to be the starter for the Philadelphia Eagles. Desperate times caused Minnesota to make a deal to bring him in.
