Willie Cauley-Stein Agrees to Terms with Golden State
NBA sources confirmed multiple reports that free agent Willie Cauley-Stein and the Golden State Warriors have agreed to terms on a free agent contract. As a result, the center will sign with the team. The deal said a source is higher than the minimum salary.
Willie Cauley-Stein has played each of his first four seasons in the NBA with the Sacramento Kings. He was picked sixth overall during the 2015 draft. The center was given a qualifying offer by the Kings that made him a restricted free agent.

However, the offer was later rescinded so the club could sign Cory Joseph, a point guard after the opening of free agency. Roger Montgomery, who is Cauley-Stein’s agent, said they preferred that the Kings did not give a qualifying offer to Cauley-Stein so he would be an unrestricted free agent.
Cauley-Stein has excelled at running the up-tempo style of play the Kings team has used of late. The center is athletic and able to pass with accuracy and finish at the rim.

However, the former star with the Kentucky Wildcats has been plagued by inconsistency. For example, during the recently ended 2018-19 season, Cauley-Stein averaged 17.4 points per game during October, but saw his numbers fall following that including averaging less than double-figures in points scored during February and April.
The 25-year old has averaged 10.1 points and 6.4 rebounds per game during his four-year career.
