Steelers ink Jaylen Warren to new deal
The start of the 2025 NFL season is only days away, with things set to kick off on Thurs. Sept. 7 between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles.
In the meantime, some teams around the league, like the Pittsburgh Steelers, are doing some last-minute business ahead of Week 1. The Steelers have reportedly agreed to terms with running back Jaylen Warren on a two-year contract extension, according to Brooke Pryor of ESPN.
Once a college football journeyman and an undrafted free agent, Steelers running back Jaylen Warren secured his future in Pittsburgh with a two-year contract extension that runs through the 2027 season, his agency, Aura Sports Group, posted on social media Monday morning.
The deal includes $12 million guaranteed, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
All three seasons he’s played in the NFL have been with the Steelers. Warren is a versatile back who can hurt opposing defenses on the ground as well as through the air, even though he hasn’t put up monster numbers during his time in Pittsburgh.
Warren was more than happy with the deal he has agreed to, saying the following.
“It’s a great feeling knowing they have my back,” Warren said shortly after the deal was announced. “I’m going to do what I can to have their back.”
The 26-year-old running back has played in 48 games for the Steelers, racking up 1,674 rushing yards and six touchdowns to go along with 894 receiving yards on 127 receptions.

He’ll likely continue to play a significant role in the offense and might even see more balls thrown his way, with four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers now under center.
