Stephen Curry On The Streak of His NBA Life
Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry is in the midst of an historic shooting run that renders his colleagues speechless.
The 33-year-old Stephen Curry is producing at a higher rate than at any other time in his 12 year career. He’s setting new records on a nightly basis.
Last week, Stephen Curry surpassed Wilt Chamberlain as Golden State’s all-time leading scorer. On Monday night, he scored 20 of 49 points in the fourth quarter as the Warriors beat the 78ers 107-96. In doing so, he became the first NBA player older than 33 to score 30 plus points in 11 consecutive games.
The last player to come close was Kobe Bryant, who had 30 points in ten straight games in 2002.

Over 10 games in April, Curry is averaging 39.9 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists. In his past six games, he has hit 54 3-pointers.Â
Warriors coach Steve Kerr is reaching for the dictionary of superlatives to describe each new monumental Curry performance.
“I’ve seen Kobe Bryant early in his career, had a stretch where he went nuts,” he said.
“Obviously, Michael Jordan had some stretches where he just scored like crazy, but obviously nobody’s ever shot the ball like this in the history of the game. Even by Steph’s own lofty standards, this is above and beyond.
“I don’t know what else to say,” Kerr said. “You guys ask me after every game what I think of Steph and his performance, whatever I said last game, just use that tonight. Because it’s the same thing after every game, it’s just utter amazement at this guy’s skill level, heart, mind, focus, it’s just amazing to watch.”

Curry himself is riding the crest of the wave after breaking Chamberlain’s record and enjoying the moment.
“From Wilt’s [record] last week and then this streak, I’m obviously aware,” Curry said.Â
“But you don’t put too much pressure on yourself, you just play basketball. … Being aggressive, obviously, but kind of letting the game come to you. For me, that looks a certain type of way, but I’m having a blast out there just playing basketball and it’s obviously working.”
