Thunder Do Not Want Suns In First Round
The Oklahoma City Thunder have clinched a playoff spot.  Kevin Durant surpassed Michael Jackson’s consecutive 25-or-more-point games at 41.
Durant also seems like a lock for MVP.  Even King James has given Durant his vote of approval, for what ever that is worth.
Russell Westbrook is playing like a man on fire in the last handful of games.
The Oklahoma City Thunder seem to have everything going their way.  In fact, you can make the argument that the Thunder are going into the NBA Championships with more momentum than any other team in the NBA.  They also have the third best future odds to win the NBA title at 9/2.  Ahead of them is the Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs.
If the playoffs were played to day, though, the Thunder would face off against the Phoenix Suns.  The Thunder, should not fear a No. 2 seed. However, in the season series the Suns have the advantage at 2-1.
Durant scored 25 or more for the 41st straight game against the Suns in their last game on Sunday, but it was bitter sweet.  The streak would be broken the next night and the Thunder lost.
P.J. Tucker stepped up and stayed on top of Durant.  Though he could not stop him from scoring 38 points, Tucker helped his team offensively by putting up 22 points of his own, a career high.  He was helped by Goran Dragic who put up the team high 26 points.  Gerald Green (24 points) and Eric Bledsoe (18 points) also contributed offensively.
For whatever reason the Thunder bring out the best in the Suns and that was on full display on Sunday.  The Suns shot for a season-best 58.4 percent.
The Suns are currently slotted to face off against the Thunder in the playoffs if they maintain their No. 7 seed.  They are only one game from overtaking the Grizzlies and the Mavs are only one game away from them.
With only a few games left, there are a few different possibilities that result in the Suns can switching seeds, which would be good news for the Thunder, who have their eyes on an NBA Championship.
