Thunder @ Magic Preview
The Orlando Magic want to get their first four-game home win streak in two seasons. However, a formidable obstacle stands in the Magic’s way. That obstacle is the leagues top scorer, Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Thunder are on a bit of a hot streak of their own. Â Along with Durant averaging an absolutely insane 34.6 points a game since Dec. 25 (when Russell Westbrook went down with an injury) they have won 11 of their last 12 games.
Under normal circumstance this game would be a huge mismatch. Â The Thunder have won five straight games in the series and the Magic have the second worst record in the NBA.
But the Magic will be playing for pride. It was back in March of 2012 the last time the Magic won four consecutive games at home. So they will be playing hard.
Westbrook also has historically performed well against the magic.  Without his 21 points, seven assists and seven rebounds against the  Orlando, they may have a better chance of winning.  However, Durant as averaged 29 points during his run against the Magic.
The Magic also has a bright spot in rookie Victor Oladipo. He averages 5.8 drives and has a total 0f 239 points when driving to the basket. Â An similar stat to Durant’s, though Oladipo gets a lot fewer chances to shoot the ball.
Both teams will feel as though they have the momentum coming into this game. Orlando beat Detroit on Wednesday 112-98. Â Oladipo had 20 points. The Thunder beat Minnesota on the same day 106-97, with Durant scoring 26 points.
The Thunder are the -10 point favorites to win according to the spread over at Bovada. Â The game starts at 7 p.m. ET.
