Tom Brady Wins Record Seventh Super Bowl

In the battle of the greatest of all time against the greatest of this time, Tom Brady won the day.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won their second ever Super Bowl title, and their first since San Diego in 2003.

On Sunday, Tom Brady and the Bucs beat the Kansas City Chiefs 31 – 9 in an ultimately one sided game.

In winning his seventh ring, Tom Brady (43) became the second quarterback to win Super Bowls with two different teams.

Brady might have been doing it with a new team, but he relied on old friends to win the game. Longtime New England Patriots teammate Rob Gronkowski came out of retirement to play with him in Tampa Bay.

The pair rekindled their partnership, combining for two touchdowns in the first half. It was their 13th and 14th postseason touchdown combination, another NFL record.

Another player who is in Tampa because of Brady is problematic wide receiver Antontio Brown. At times, it seemed like Brady was the last friend Antonio Brown had left.

Brady’s faith paid off as Brown caught a low pass for a touchdown just before halftime for a 21 – 6 lead that despite their comeback record, looked insurmountable for the stifled Chiefs.

Tampa was the underdog against the Chiefs, and having the trickier path to the Super Bowl worked in their favor. On the way to the Raymond James Stadium showpiece, the Bucs kept Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees quiet.

Patrick Mahomes was their next victim and the Buccaneers front seven forced him to play faster than he’s used to. Mahomes had the worst game of his career as he was harried into 52.3 passer rating performance. He made only 26 of 49 attempts for 270 yards.

With Kansas giving up 11 penalties for 120 yards in Florida, their injury-ravaged team gave themselves too high a mountain to climb.

Brady ominously stated before the match that the Buccaneers had yet to play their best game.

“I think we knew this was going to happen, didn’t we?” he said afterwards. “We ended up playing our best game of the year.”
