Warriors Blowout Rockets, Steph Curry Misses Second Half With Sprained Knee
The good news for the Golden State Warriors is they beat the Houston Rockets by double digits for the third time in four games, taking a commanding 3-1 lead in the series. The bad news is they had to do it without superstar Stephen Curry in the second half.
After missing the last two games with a nagging right ankle sprain, Curry suffered another sprain, this one in his right knee, after slipping while guarding Rockets small forward Trevor Ariza as time ran out in the second period.
Though it was no doubt a tough loss for both the Warriors and their fans, nobody took it harder than the man himself. Teammate Draymond Green reportedly told ESPN that Curry actually cried in the huddle when he was told he wasn’t allowed to return to the game.

Curry tested the knee out during second half warm-ups, but returned to the locker room after struggling. Not that Houston was equipped to capitalize on Golden State’s misfortune—despite being tied at the half, the Warriors ended up winning by a 27-point margin.
The series returns to Oakland for Game 5 on Wednesday. Curry’s status is obviously questionable. He’s got an MRI scheduled for Monday.
