Warriors Equal Team Road Win Record

The Golden State Warriors beat the Chicago Bulls 119 – 112 in Chicago on Wednesday night. It was a team-record 14th straight road win for the Warriors, who were without Draymond Green.

Golden State was led by Klay Thompson, who scored a season-best 38 points on 12-of-22 shooting. Stephen Curry scored 30 points on 10-of-18 shooting. The pair scored a combined 13 from deep, while the rest of their teammates were 0-9.

It was their play in the third quarter that turned the game in Golden State’s favor. After Chicago scored a season-high 40 points in the first quarter, the Warriors took control. Thompson and Curry combined for 22 points including 6 three pointers to give the Warriors a 95 – 78 lead.

Kevin Durant finished the game with 19 points, 7 assists and 8 rebounds for the Golden State.

Nikola Mirotic led the Chicago Bulls with 24 points. The Bulls came into the game off the back of three straight wins.

The NBA-best Warriors (37 – 9) are two road wins away from equalling the all-time record held by the Los Angeles Lakers. In 1971 – 1972, the Lakers won 33 straight, including 16 on the road.

“Winning on the road is great,” Stephen Curry said. “You see opposing arenas empty out pretty quick.”

Warriors rookie Jordan Bell was taken off the court with a sprained ankle. He left in a wheelchair, and will have an MRI scan on Thursday.

Golden State was won 4 games in a row and they’re 21 – 3 on the road. They could equal the Lakers road record in their next two games. They play next against the Houston Rockets in Houston, their fifth straight road game.
