Warriors @ Knicks Preview
It is becoming pretty clear that the Golden State Warriors will be making a tournament run this season. They are a solid team that, despite being a seventh see, are hanging with other top seeded teams. They are only four games behind the No. 4 Los Angeles Clippers.
The New York Knicks‘ post-season future does not look so bright. With a .362 winning percentage, time is running out for this team to put together a post-season run. A nice notch in the belt and a step in the right direction would be a victory over the Golden State Warriors.
The last time the Golden State’s top scorer, Stephen Curry was in the Garden he entered the famous arenas record books with the third highest scoring record ever in Madison Square Garden.
Curry’s 54-point performance against New York would slip to fourth, though, when Carmelo Anthony, the Knicks top scorer, put up 62 points in a home game against the Charlotte Bobcats.
These two fantastic shooters are on a collision course as they will face off tonight as they Knicks host the Warriors.
A lot of Curry’s record-setting points in his last game with New York came from 11 three-pointers. It was a franchise best and a stat that is weighing on the minds of the New York’s defense.
It is not just Curry keeping the Knicks defenders up at night. David Lee was absent in their last encounter but will be back tonight, helping Curry shoulder some of the scoring load.
With Lee is in the lineup the Warriors have not lost to New York, making them 3-0 against the Knicks with Lee.
The momentum is not all in the Warriors favor though. They are coming off a loss against the Chicago Bulls that snapped a four-game win streak.
