Warriors @ Suns Preview
The Phoenix Suns have quietly slipped into the seventh seed in the the NBA Western Conference. They are only .5 games behind their Pacific division rivals, the Golden State Warriors and four games behind the Los Angeles Clippers.
Tonight they will have a chance to surpass the Warriors in the ranking in the most fitting way possible, by beating them.
It will be up to Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson to prevent the Suns from defeating them, as David Lee looks like he will be sitting this game as he is pretty banged up.
The Warriors have played well against the Suns this season. Â In their first encounter of the season back on Dec. 15, the Warriors lost, 106-102, in a close one, but Curry put up a whopping 30 points. They clashed again on Dec.27, this time the Warriors made short work of the Suns beating them 115-86. Â Curry again was a human highlight reel with 14 points, 16 assists and 13 rebounds. In the latter game, the Suns were held to their fewest points all season. The Warriors will need another performance like that to take out the Suns when the have home court advantage.
The Warriors looked to be slipping a few days ago when they lost to the Charlotte Bobcats. Â They shot an astoundingly terrible 31.2 percent from field. They bounced back a couple days ago against the Bulls with a 102-87 win against one of the NBA’s best defensive squads. They will need to keep up that momentum.
Meanwhile, the Suns followed a five-game win streak with back-to-back losses, one to Chicago and one to the Houston Rockets. The Suns will be looking to get their season back on track and climb over the Warriors in the rankings with a win tonight.
The Suns are the -3 point favorites to win this game according to the point spread over at Bovada. The game is tonight at 9 p.m. ET.
