What The Pats Win Over Broncos Means For Both Teams
The New England Patriots beat the Denver Broncos. Â It is in the books as Tom Brady again bests Peyton Manning, which is going to start even more debates than it is likely to settle. The win also, undoubtedly, has and will have an affect on on the scenery in the NFL. Â Here is the impact this game has had and will have on each of these scenes.
Denver Broncos
The Broncos lost. Â Peyton Manning is not impossible to stop, or keep up with we should say considering the combined score was over 60 points. Â So what happened? How did the Patriots topple the seemingly unstoppable Broncos?
There is a multitude of excuses out there for why they lost. Many have blamed Ryan Allen’s botched punt. Other’s point to how Manning tends to perform poorly in cold weather, but the fact is the Broncos got out played in this game. Manning was held to below 200 yards for the first time since dawning a Broncos jersey and it is not coincidence that they lost.
So instead of focusing on playing the blame game lets look at what this loss means for the Broncos as a team. The answer is not much. Luckily for the Broncos, the Kansas City Chiefs were also upset by the San Diego Chargers. Â Meaning both teams sit at 9-2 and are tied for the No. 1 spot in the AFC West. The Broncos will clash with the Chiefs in their next game, giving them the chance to start putting some distance between the two teams.
New England Patriots
The Patriots started the season off very rocky. Some pretty bad teams gave them a run for their money. It looked as though Brady would not have any receivers to throw to, and the team very clearly missed Wes Welker early in the season. Â However, with this win they have solidified their position as a team to beat in the NFL.
They have all but already been officially announced as the AFC East winner with no other team close to touching them (the Jets are 5-6). Â The Patriots are also one of, if not the best team, in the NFL, whether Bronco fans like it or not.
The Pats have a fairly easy schedule ahead, with no notable games left. Expect to see them in the playoffs, where they could even run into the Broncos again.
