Tebow Takes Over Early Player Props Bets

Tebowmania may be well in the past but do not tell that to the recently updated player props bets over at Bovada, which at the moment are very Tim Tebow-centric.

Tebow, the college star quarter back from Florida, has had a lot of trouble finding a home in the NFL, making a handful of rosters only to be let go with most analysis citing poor game mechanics as his football-fatal flaw.

Chip Kelly, is known to make some bold moves, and he did just that with the announcement that the Philadelphia Eagles would be giving Tebow a shot to make the roster.

Philadelphia’s new vice president of player personnel Ed Marynowitz become the first in the Eagles’ organization to comment on Tebow saying “We had exposure to him live when he was with New England, when they practiced here. When we worked him out, we saw a great deal of improvement with him.”

Tebow will compete with the Eagles other quarterbacks on the roster for a starting spot, according to Marynowitz, but it is hard to imagine Tebow fitting in on the roster except as a third-string quarterback. What value would he possibly have at that position?

The Eagles may be looking toward the future, though, with all the talks of changing the extra-point rules and requiring teams to go for two points after every touchdown. If that rule comes into fruition, the Eagles could use Tebow as a two-point specialist as suggested by Kevin Patra of NFL.com.

Regardless of the Eagles reasoning, prop bets are now up focusing on Tebow.  The biggie is will Tebow even make the 53 man roster for Game 1 of the regular season. The odds are favoriting NO with a -200 moneyline. YES sits with a +150 moneyline.

The odds of him being a starting quarterback for the Eagles are not pretty with the no set with a -500 moneyline and YES set with +300.

The last player prop bet for Tebow is if he makes the 53-man roster, what will happen first, with the following options:

Gets cut, traded, released or retires – +110

Rushes for a TD – +200

Throws a TD Pass – +200

Records a TD Reception – +1400
