Ravens QB Lamar Jackson ruled out vs. Texans

After a 1-3 start to the 2025 NFL season, the Baltimore Ravens haven’t lived up to expectations, even though they seem to still have a potent offense when a healthy Lamar Jackson is running the show.

Unfortunately for Baltimore, the team’s struggles may continue in Week 5’s matchup against the Houston Texans, with Jackson dealing with a hamstring injury, which has ruled him out for Sunday’s game against C.J. Stroud and company, according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN.

Lamar Jackson has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans with a hamstring injury, the latest setback for the struggling and banged-up Baltimore Ravens.

With Jackson on the mend, head coach John Harbaugh will turn to veteran backup Cooper Rush to shoulder the load against the Texans. Rush discussed being set to start in Sunday’s game at M&T Bank Stadium.

“I’ve kind of been here before,” Rush said. “Whenever a franchise QB goes down, it’s always a ‘sky is falling’ feeling everywhere you are. It’s normal, and if you have to go out there on Sunday and do what you have to do, it’s nice knowing you had a whole week to prep for it. So things like that are good.”

As of Friday, the Ravens will head into this matchup on their home field as the underdog (+1.5), which shows just how drastically not having the two-time NFL MVP on the field impacts games for Baltimore.

It’ll be interesting to see if Rush can help the Ravens get a win in Jackson’s absence.
