Mets Look To Pick Up Win In Series With Dodgers
The New York Mets were the latest victim to LA Dodgers ace, Clayton Kershaw’s 29 scoreless-inning streak as he shut out the Mets to lead the Dodgers to a 3-0 win.
Today’s game will be a different story as Kershaw will not take the mound for the Dodgers and the Mets experiment with a new starter.
The Mets will have Ian Thomas take the mound. He will be starting in place of Zack Greinke who is out expecting a child. This will be Thomas’ first MLB start. He has pitched 21 innings in his Majors career with a 4.71 ERA.
The Dodgers will start the more experienced Jon Niese. He has an overall ERA of 3.36, though his ERA is at 3.79 in six career starts against LA and is 2-1 against the team.
There is a lot of question marks around this game for bettors. The moneyline is set at EVEN with the books asking –110 to bet on either team.
The Mets are on a two-game losing streak, while the Dodgers have won two consecutive games and are 6-4 over their last ten games compared to the Mets’ 5-5.
The total is set at 7.5 runs, which is a risky bet either way, as Niese’s first MLB start creates a lot of questions around the total.
The game starts at 8:10 p.m. ET.
