Colts And Eagles Wrap Up Week 1 Of Preseason
Week 1 of the NFL preseason will wrap up tonight as the Indianapolis Colts and Philadelphia Eagles go head dead at Lincoln Field in Phili.
THe total is the highest of any Week 1 preseason game. It is set at 42 points as these two teams are expected to be among the best offenses in the league while their defense is expected to leave a lot to be desired. Also the Eagles are 6-0 on the over over their last six preseason games. The average total of those preseason games is 56.2 points.
The Eagles are the -4-point favorites against the Colts. The Eagles are 3- straight up and against the spread in their last three home preseason games. Meanwhile, the Colts have lost their last five preseason games.
Coach Chip Kelly has a lot to prove this season. He is playing with his third starting quarterback over three years. Mark Sanchez is expected to start on Sunday with Tim Tebow and Matt Barkley also expected to get some play time. Sam Bradford is currently penciled in as the team’s starter.
LeSean McCoy, Jeremy Maclin and Evan Mathis all left after after last season. Many of those players had a lot of negative things to say about Kelly. He will be looking to prove his doubters wrong this season and may even start proving himself in this game.
The pressure is also on the Colts. They are tied as favorites to win the AFC with the New England Patriots. Andrew Luck is a certified superstar quarterback, though Matt Hasselbeck and Bryan Bennett will be taking most of if not all the snaps today.
