Tim Tebow Returning to SEC Network, Mercifully Stops Beating a Dead Horse

For a second there, it actually looked like the Philadelphia Eagles were serious about making Tim Tebow their third string quarterback. Chip Kelly said he was “excited” to see the Gator great in action and noting, “Tim has a lot of skills that a lot of other quarterbacks don’t have.”

The Tebow tease continued for almost five months, peaking when the Eagles traded Matt Barkley to the Arizona Cardinals. Leaving a roster spot for The Chosen One (ESPN’s stupid words, not mine), and whipping his countless fanboys and fangirls into a tizzy in the process.

Chief among them, ESPN’s Skip Bayless, who on First Take denounced Kelly as “a snake in the grass” for having the audacity to publicly shower Tebow with lukewarm praise, only to cut him. There’s a special place in hell for monsters like that.

Luckily for Bayless, his one true love will never be too far away. This week ESPN announced Tebow will soon be back behind the desk, illuminating the SEC Network with his beautiful face, buckets of charisma, sharp suits and superficial football analysis delivered with a smile.

Tim Tebow returns to ESPN this Saturday, Sept. 12 as an SEC Network college football analyst. Tebow resumes his role on the network’s two-hour traveling pregame show, SEC Nation. The show is live from Nashville, on the Vanderbilt campus, beginning at 10 a.m. ET (9 a.m. CT) prior the Georgia at Vanderbilt football game.

“Tim quickly developed into an excellent analyst last year, and we were not shy about acknowledging his home at ESPN should he be available to return,” said John Wildhack, ESPN Executive Vice President.
