Packers Big Favorites Over Kansas City
The Green Bay Packers are currently penciled in as 7-point favorites against the Kansas City Chiefs tonight on Monday Night Football and with good reason, the Packers are a good team anywhere, but are superb at Lambeau.
The Packers are universally recognized as one of the best teams in the NFL. Most future odds have them sitting on top of the Super Bowl futures and they seem to be every sport’s talking head’s favorite pick to win it all this year. So any team going up against Green Bay is likely to be in an underdog situation but that especially is true at Lambeau Field.
When playing at home the Packers are undefeated dating back to 2014. Green Bay’s closest margin of victory over that time was five points. That game was last season’s battle against the New England Patriots that Green Bay won 26-21. Pulling that game out of the equation, Green bay has won by an average of about 18 points when playing at home.
Meanwhile, one of the, if not the best, quarterback in the NFL, Aaron Rodgers, has not thrown an interception at home since Week 13 of 2012. That is a heck of a streak and even if it were to end tonight, it may not be enough of a game changer for the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chiefs are coming into the game at optimal health after being off since Week 2 Thursday Night football. The Chiefs are among the top teams considered to be playoff contenders, but will all that be enough to overcome the Packers tremendous home-field advantage?
Let’s put it this way, no one will recommend that you bet against the Packers at home.
