New Orleans Saints Slight Favorites On The Road Against Washington Redskins
The New Orleans Saints seem to be coming around with four wins in that last six weeks of the 2015 NFL season. Although the Saints began to get written after starting the year 1-4, New Orleans has turned a lot of heads over the last few weeks and could make a strong push of a playoff spot in the coming weeks.
In Week 10, the Saints will square off against the lowly Washington Redskins on the road at FedExField. With a win, New Orleans will be sitting at 5-5 on the season while looking at a relatively easy schedule the rest of the way.
According to Sportsbook.ag, the Redskins will be underdogs at home on Sunday with the Saints sporting a -1.5 point spread. New Orleans may have begun to turn things around after a few solid wins over the last few weeks, but oddsmakers still aren’t sold on this team with such a weak defense.
The Saints are giving up 29.8 points per game this season that is currently ranked 31st in the NFL. Obviously, that’s not going to get it done if this team is truly trying to contend for one of the two NFC Wild Card spots.
As for the Redskins, Jay Gruden’s squad is still in the running the NFC East division title at 3-5. Washington hasn’t been a great football team this season but has done enough to remain in the hunt for a playoff spot in the NFC. A win over the Saints would be a huge in the race for the NFC Wild Card along with putting them one step closer to keeping up with the Philadelphia Eagles (4-4) and New York Giants (5-4).
Although the Redskins have a legitimate shot to pull off the slight upset here, the Saints are the better team. Drew Brees and company should head to Washington on Sunday and come out with a win while covering the -1.5 point spread.
