NFL Odds: Green Bay Packers Favored Over Minnesota Vikings In Week 17
The final game of the 2015 NFL regular season will take place at Lambeau Field with the Green Bay Packers hosting the division rival Minnesota Vikings. Although both teams have already clinched playoff spots, the Packers and Vikings will be viewing this regular-season finale as a statement game. Neither team will be backing down with a win helping carry momentum into the postseason, especially if these two rivals meet at some point in the playoffs.
According to Sportsbook.ag, the Packers are the slight favorites heading into Sunday’s matchup in Wisconsin. Green Bay’s home-field advantage gives Mike McCarthy’s squad a -3.5 point spread in NFL odds coming into the divisional showdown.
Over the course of the season, the Packers and Vikings have been two of the best teams in the NFC, but also teams that have been inconsistent. Both teams have struggled at times this year with Green Bay losing four out of five games at one point and Minnesota having a similar stretch with three losses in four games.
The Packers are coming off one of their worst losses of the season at the hands of arguably the best all-around team in the NFC. The Arizona Cardinals manhandled the Packers in Week 16 handing Aaron Rodgers and company a devastating 30-point loss in Arizona.
As for the Vikings, Minnesota was beaten by the Cardinals in a three-point loss back on Dec. 11 but have since won two straight. The Vikings crushed the Chicago Bears (38-17) and New York Giants (49-17) the past two weeks in dominant offensive performances.
Although the Packers beat the Vikings on Nov. 22 (30-13) with relative ease, Minnesota appears to be the more prepared football team coming into this matchup of NFC North division rivals. The Vikings will pull off the upset in Green Bay on Sunday as the Packers continue to struggle to find their groove as the postseason approaches.
