Detroit Red Wings Qualify for 25th Straight NHL Postseason
On Saturday, the Detroit Red Wings clinched a spot in the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs due to the Boston Bruins loss to Ottawa. This marked the 25th straight season the Red Wings have qualified for the playoffs.
Detroit is not expected to have much success in the Stanley Cup playoffs. However, they open against a depleted Tampa Bay Lightning team and could surprise the Lightning. During the season, the teams split four games.
The last time a Detroit Red Wings teams missed the postseason was in 1990. Since April of 1990, many things have changed.
