As expected, the Golden State Warriors wiped the floor with the eighth seed Houston Rockets in Game 1 of their first-round playoff series. The Rockets didn’t stand much of a chance against the defending NBA champions with the Warriors cruising to a 26-point victory, and it may be more of the same in Game 2, even with a banged up Stephen Curry.

During Game 1 against the Rockets, Curry suffered an ankle sprain which raises cause for concern. The ankle injury was all anyone could talk about following the Warriors’ win over the Rockets and for good reason with the reigning NBA MVP being questionable for Game 2 on Monday in Oakland, according to Ethan Sherwood Strauss of ESPN:

Star guard Stephen Curry remains questionable for Game 2 of the Golden State Warriors’ playoff series against the Houston Rockets on Monday, after rolling his right ankle in the second quarter of Game 1.

Curry dealt with quite a few ankle issues in the first few years of career but has been able to stay relatively healthy over the last few seasons. Curry’s ankle problems became such a concern for the Warriors at the start of his career that the team wasn’t confident he’d grow into the superstar he is today and that’s why the 28-year-old has one of the most team-friendly contracts in the league.

Although Curry is questionable for Game 2, the Warriors remain the overwhelming favorite to come out on top on Monday night. Golden State is sporting a -13 point spread (via @Sportsbook.ag) as of Sunday afternoon and will likely cover that spread with or without the superstar guard in the lineup.
