Rockets’ Jason Terry Guarantees Win Over Warriors In Game 5
The first-round playoff series between the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets has taken a drastic turn. Superstar Stephen Curry has been ruled out for the rest of the series with a sprained MCL in his right knee, and the Rockets may have some light at the end of the tunnel as a result.
Without Curry leading the way for the Warriors, the Rockets will try to take advantage and avoid elimination in Game 5 back in Oakland. Although Curry will not be in the lineup on Wednesday, Golden State remains favored to win and advance with a -9.5 point spread, according to Sportsbook.ag.
Despite the Rockets being on the verge of elimination and clearly the weaker team of the two, veteran Jason Terry is guaranteeing victory on Wednesday night. Terry said the following about Game 5, via Calvin Watkins of ESPN:
“I’m guaranteeing it,†said 38-year old Jason Terry. “If I don’t, then what? It’s a loss, right. I guarantee victory that’s what it’s going to take. I believe in my group, I know we can get a win here and send this thing back to Houston.â€
After Curry injured his knee and was ruled out for the remainder of Game 4 earlier this week, the Warriors were still able to handle James Harden and company with relative ease. Golden State cruised to a 27-point win in Houston and will attempt to continue their dominance against the Rockets back in the Bay Area.
If the Rockets can avoid elimination on Wednesday, the series will get back underway for Game 6 on Friday night back at the Toyota Center in Houston. If necessary, Game 7 would be played on Sunday, May 1 at Oracle Arena.
