Bills Woes Continue, Sammy Watkins Suffers Broken Foot
Former Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones may be feeling the love for his new coach Rex Ryan, whom he recently referred to as his “long-lost dad,†but other than that the month of May has not been kind to the Buffalo Bills.
At least fans must be used to this by now.
On Monday the Bills announced that their first-round draft pick Shaq Lawson, out of Clemson, would likely miss at least half his rookie season. Lawson suffered an injury to his right shoulder that will require surgery.
God got a plan for me 🙏🏿 be back better than ever #wishmewell🙏🏿

As if that wasn’t bad enough, the announcement was followed up with news that wide receiver Sammy Watkins, another (former) first-round pick out of Clemson, sustained a broken bone in his foot last month. It is just the latest in a long series of injuries the stud wideout has had to contend with.
To all my fans I'm doing great, can't believe everything you hear. Thanks for checking on me gotta love you guys. #BUFFLOVE

The good news is that the damage was reportedly minor. Three weeks ago Watkins underwent minor surgery in which a screw was inserted to repair the break. He is expected to make a relatively speedy recovery and the Bills are optimistic he’ll be ready to go come the start of training camp.
