Le’Veon Bell to Drop Colabb Track with Snoop Dogg
You can’t say Le’Veon Bell hasn’t been keeping himself busy since suffering a season-ending MCL injury last season. The Steelers running back has spent the majority of this offseason either showing off his rehabilitated knee – by way of sick hops at pickup basketball games – or dropping hip hop tracks under his nickname “Juice.†Now, the young star is set to drop a collaborative track with rap legend and Steelers superfan Snoop Dogg.
In an interview with TMZ Sports, Tha Dogg announced the track was “already done†and promised it will be “dope as f***.†Snoop, who has an album of his own due out mid-2016, was only too happy to lend his voice for a track on Bell’s own mixtape, a follow-up to his debut project, The Interview. “I wouldn’t have done it if it wasn’t any good,†added the west coast MC.
After seemingly going into hiding for a long period following his injury, Bell returned to the public eye with a series of hip-hop singles in the lead up to his free-to-download mixtape.
The tape featured ten tracks: a wild, conjunctive mix of solid trap and acoustic tunes, smooth features from assorted underground rappers and Bell’s family-friendly brand of indistinct braggadocio.
Being a role model to young fans (and one year removed from a DUI charge) perhaps Bell made the wise decision to not touch the subject matter that typically propagates this genre of music. But the tape was a fun listen nonetheless. Shortly afterwards, he dropped his best work yet – a song called “On A Mission†– chronicling his rehab and shouting out his haters with witty lines and punchy delivery over a minimalistic beat.
If this upcoming track with Snoop is even halfway decent, look for it to become an anthem of sorts among Steeler Nation if the Black & Gold can get on another roll in 2016.
