NFL power rankings, Week 11: NFC edition
16. San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers are 1-8 and legitimately might not win another game this season. At this point, they might have the worst roster in the NFL.
15. Chicago Bears
Chicago is horrendous. Did you see that four-turnover meltdown in the first half against the Buccaneers on Sunday? It was one of the uglier games this season.
14. Los Angeles Rams
The Rams are finally doing the right thing by giving Jared Goff a chance, but considering how long he sat behind the immortal Case Keenum, should we expect anything?
13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay is the kind of team that can surprise you here and there, but Dirk Koetter’s group has no staying power. Why? Jameis Winston is surrounded by nonsense sans Mike Evans.
12. Carolina Panthers
Carolina has a huge chance to fly up the power rankings this week. Then Cam Newton made a horrific throw, Eric Berry did Eric Berry things, Marcus Peters ripped the ball away from Kelvin Benjamin, and the Panthers lost to the Chiefs after leafing 17-0.
11. Philadelphia Eagles
After starting 3-0, the Eagles are 2-4. Philadelphia has some nice young talent including Carson Wentz, but he is not going to have a fun weekend against the Legion of Boom.
10. Green Bay Packers
Mike McCarthy needs to be fired. How general manager Ted Thompson can’t see this is beyond all of us. Hell, maybe Thompson should get a pink slip as well.
9. Arizona Cardinals
We are going to find out a ton about the Cardinals this weekend. Does Arizona get over .500 and keep Minnesota sliding, or does it all fall apart in the Great White North?
8. New Orleans Saints
The Saints absolutely have to beat the Panthers on Thursday night, or you can turn out the lights. If nothing else, at least New Orleans gets to watch Drew Brees every week.
7. Minnesota Vikings
If the Vikings lose to the Cardinals on Sunday at home, it’s curtains. Minnesota has lost four straight, and appears to be circling the drain in a huge way.
6. Washington Redskins
The Redskins get little fanfare, but this is a good team. A home game on Sunday night against the Packers could get them to 6-3-1.
5. New York Giants
New York is already 6-3 and now gets to play two D-II college teams with the Bears and Browns on the schedule. If Dallas slips up, look out.
4. Detroit Lions
The Lions are the quietest division leader in the NFL history. At 5-4, the offense is humming and the defense is finally getting healthy.
3. Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons desperately need to get back on track after their bye week. The schedule won’t help, though, with some tough opponents down the stretch.
2. Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks don’t have the best record in the NFC, but it feels like this team is only going to get better as the rest of the year unfolds.
1. Dallas Cowboys
What else can you say? Ezekiel Elliott is amazing, the offensive line is the best in football and the defense does just enough. 8-1.
