Cavaliers score record 49 points in first quarter of Game 4
The Cleveland Cavaliers, down 3-0 to the Golden State Warriors, needed a big game Friday night to avoid a four-game sweep. Through one quarter, you could say they’ve done what’s necessary, and then some. The Cavaliers scored 49 points in the first quarter, breaking the record for most points in a single quarter in NBA Finals history.

They led by the score of 49-33 at this point.
Along the way, LeBron James did something remarkable as well. The King passed His Airness, Michael Jordan, to move up to No. 3 on the all-time list for most points scored in NBA Finals history.
Needless to say, the crowd in Cleveland is pretty pumped up for this game, especially after watching their team tear apart the Warriors early.
