NFL News: Giants’ Odell Beckham Jr. Wants To Be NFL’s Highest-Paid Player

The New York Giants are always a threat to be a playoff contender in the NFC. Eli Manning and company put a competitive product on the field every single season with one of the best all-around players in the league helping lead the way in wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

Despite being as controversial and as outspoken as it gets at the wide receiver position, Beckham never fails to live up to expectations on an annual basis. Although he is as consistent as they come at wideout, Beckham not only wants to be the highest-paid player at this position but the highest-paid NFL player, as he said in an interview with ESPN’s UNINTERRUPTED:

“I believe that I will be hopefully not just the highest-paid receiver in the league, but the highest-paid, period.”

Although Beckham won’t be making that much on the field during this upcoming season due to his current contract with the Giants, the 24-year-old wideout will be making his fair share in endorsements, via ESPN:

Beckham is to make $1.8 million this season. He is set to make over $10 million this year in endorsements separate from his football income, including $5.8 million from his newly-signed Nike deal.

Dez Bryant of the Dallas Cowboys, who is currently the highest-paid player at wide receiver, is set to make $17 million during the 2017 campaign. Pittsburgh Steelers superstar Antonio Brown also recently signed a deal which will have him earning $17 million annually.

Beckham obviously wants to be in the same category as those two perennial Pro Bowlers and for a good reason. Last season, Beckham recorded a career-high 101 receptions to go along with 1,367 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.

In all three seasons in New York, Beckham has had 1,300 or more yards receiving and 10 or more touchdowns.
