Andrew Luck ‘still a week away’ from practicing with Colts

The Indianapolis Colts will have to wait a bit longer to get their star quarterback back on the field. Andrew Luck appears to be making progress, but won’t be practicing heading toward Week 4’s battle with the Seattle Seahawks.

According to ESPN’s Mike Wells, Luck won’t be practicing meaning Jacoby Brissett could be under center for a few more weeks.

“He’s still a week away from as far as his throwing progression and things like that,” Pagano said. “We’ll keep him out of practice this week and hopefully integrate back in next week.”

Although Luck was expected to practice ahead of Week 4, the star quarterback didn’t suffer a setback in his attempt to get back on the field this season. Head coach Chuck Pagano made a point of it to let that be known that there was no setback, via Wells.

“He’s doing great; there was no setback,” Pagano said. “Nothing changed. We were hopeful; it didn’t work out.”

Fortunately for the Colts, the team is coming off their first win of the season beating the Cleveland Browns on the road in Week 3. Brissett had a solid performance with three total touchdowns against the lowly Browns, but the former New England Patriots quarterback will have his work cut out for him this week against Richard Sherman and the Seahawks defense.

Despite Brissett’s impressive play in Week 3, the team still appears to be headed for a long and disappointing season. Indianapolis was barely able to come out on top against the Browns and will almost certainly have a long day ahead of them against the Legion of Boom this week.
