Rockets PG Chris Paul set to miss 2-4 weeks with knee injury
The Houston Rockets were one of the many teams in the NBA that made some drastic changes in an effort to compete with the star-studded Golden State Warriors. The team went out and traded for superstar Chris Paul from the Los Angeles Clippers to have him play against James Harden in Houston.
Unfortunately for the Rockets, the new dynamic duo may not be able to play together again until a month from now. Paul injured his left knee in the season-opening win against the Warriors and now will miss some time as a result, via Tim MacMahon of ESPN.
Houston Rockets point guard Chris Paul will likely be sidelined two to four weeks while recovering from his bruised left knee, sources confirmed to ESPN.
Obviously, with the Rockets having championship aspirations this season, losing Paul for as much as a month isn’t the best way to start the 2017-18 campaign. Houston looked good in their first game of the season against Golden State and followed it up with a win over the Sacramento Kings.
The Rockets won’t get back on the floor until Saturday when Harden and company take on Dirk Nowitzki’s Dallas Mavericks. The matchup with the Mavs will actually be the team’s season opener at home and the first of a two-game homestand which concludes against the Memphis Grizzlies on Mon. Oct. 23.
Harden, who was one of the finalists for NBA MVP last season, will have to shoulder the load while the Rockets await the return of Paul.
