Raiders’ Amari Cooper will likely miss Week 14’s matchup with Chiefs
The Oakland Raiders are still in the playoff hunt in the AFC with Derek Carr and company hoping to take a crucial step closer to clinching a spot in the postseason with a win over the division rival Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
Unfortunately for Oakland, the team will likely be without one of their best offensive players. Wide receiver Amari Cooper has been dealing with a concussion as well as a sprained ankle making him questionable for Week 14, via ESPN’s Paul Gutierrez.
Oakland Raiders receiver Amari Cooper, who had not practiced since suffering a sprained left ankle and concussion on Nov. 26, was listed as questionable to play Sunday at the Kansas City Chiefs after practicing in a limited fashion on Friday.
The Raiders are sitting at 6-6 coming into Week 14 with a win over the Chiefs being crucial to their chances of winning the AFC West division and therefore clinching a playoff berth. The Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers are neck-and-neck with the Chiefs who have really struggled as of late and look nothing like the dominant squad in the first half of the 2017 NFL campaign.
Losing Cooper for this game would be a major loss for the Raiders with the Alabama product having arguably his best game as a pro in the win over Kansas City earlier in the year. Cooper caught 11 passes for 210 receiving yards and two touchdowns in that game.
Currently, the Raiders are underdogs heading into this divisional matchup on the road. Although Cooper may likely be out, Oakland should still put up a fight against the reeling Chiefs.
