NFC East Preview
It is time for a rundown of the NFC East football games for Week 8. Below you will find the point spread, over/under and money line for each game along with some helpful analysis.
Dallas Cowboys vs Carolina Panthers
Anyone who has read anything that I have been writing about the Cowboys over the last couple weeks knows that I am incredibly disappointed in this team. If you looks at their roster and their roster alone you would guess this is the best team in the NFL. Instead they sit at 2-3 and are last place in their division. It has almost been a month since the Cowboys have won a game.
The Panthers have not looked good this season either. Many are quick to point to the fall of Cam Newton as the primary reason for the Panthers poor season. What people tend to forget is Newton’s rookie season was unreal that we put too much on him. He is still a young quarterback with a lot to learn. Super Cam will be back and he may return in this game.
Despite the Panthers 1-4 record, the odds at Betonline.com for this game are close. You can see the book keepers become more wary of the Cowboys as they disappoint week after week. The Cowboys are favored to win but just a -1 point spread. The moneyline for the game is -130 for the Cowboys +110 for the Panthers. The over/under is at 46.
This game starts on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. Depending on the area you live in, you may be able to catch it on Fox.
New York Giants vs Washington Redskins
If I am being completely honest this is the NFC East game I am looking forward to the most. I feel that these two team are the best team in the NFC East and seeing them go head to head is going to be a fun one to watch.
This game has a big game feel because it will be pitting Eli Manning against RGIII. As exciting as these quarterbacks are to watch the game is not going to come down to who has the better quarterback.
If the Redskins want to beat the Giants their offensive line is going to have to step up. RGIII can do a lot with his legs but he does not need to be running from Giants defensive linemen the whole game. The Redskins are also going to have to tighten up in their secondary otherwise Manning is going to simply make big passes afternoon.
It is going to be a huge upset if the Redskins some how beat the Giants and the odds reflect this with a point spread of -6 for the Giants. The Moneyling sits at +220 for the Redskins and -260 for the Giants. The over/under is at 51 points. This game has the highest over/under of the week.
This game starts on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. Depending on the area you live in, you may be able to catch the game on Fox.
Note:Â The Philadelphia Eagles have a bye week.
