Warriors guard Stephen Curry set to return after 6-game absence
The Golden State Warriors are already preparing for what will likely be another deep playoff run as the defending NBA champions have their sights set on winning a third title in four years. Unfortunately, unlike the past few campaigns, Golden State has dealt with their fair share of injuries to key players like superstar guard Stephen Curry.
Curry’s chronic ankle injuries of the past have come back to haunt him this season with the most recent injury keeping him out the last six games. Golden State will now get their face of the franchise back on the floor for Friday night’s matchup with the Atlanta Hawks, according to ESPN’s Chris Haynes.
Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry will return to action Friday night against the Atlanta Hawks after missing the past six games with a right ankle tweak.
With the two-time NBA MVP back in the fold, the Warriors can try to get back on track as they went an uncharacteristic 2-4 without Curry on the floor. Curry has missed a total of 21 games this season due to his persistent ankle issues, and the team hopes to have him healthy for another run at a title.
Along with Curry dealing with ankle problems this year, the team’s three other star players have also been banged up as of late. Kevin Durant is currently dealing with an injury to his ribs while Klay Thompson has a fracture in his shooting hand and Draymond Green copes with a pelvic contusion.
Needless to say, there is some growing concern in the Bay Area with all of their stars dealing with some sort of injury, but the consensus appears to be the same with this star-studded team expected to win it all once again.
