Steelers LB Ryan Shazier on PUP list, won’t play in 2018
In a procedural move on Wednesday, the Pittsburgh Steelers have placed injured linebacker Ryan Shazier on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform List.
Having already been ruled out for the 2018 season after suffering a serious spine injury last year, Shazier’s status remains in question moving forward. The move also makes sure that he doesn’t count against Pittsburgh’s 90-man roster as offseason programs around the NFL ramp up in the coming weeks.

Shazier was on hand at the 2018 NFL Draft this past week to announce the Steelers’ first-round pick. Itt was great to see the Pro Bowl linebacker walk up to the podium in Arlington. Although it’s clear that he’s still having some major physical problems stemming from the above-mentioned injury.
However, the linebacker’s long-term prognosis seems to be good. It just remains to be seen if he’ll ever return to the NFL gridiron after such a devastating injury.
