NBA Free Agency Odds: Cashing In
With the announcement that LeBron James has signed with the Lakers and other free agency rumors put this rest over the last few weeks, many bettors have began to cash in on their NBA free agency odds bets.
Since the end of the season, LA was the favorite among a landing place for James as the team made a lot of serious waves and caused a lot of serious rumors this off season. James normally hovered around -250 to move to LA, however, Sunday before his decision some sites had him marked up to -5000 to jump to the Lakers.
With James now on the roster the Lakers now have the second best odds of winning an NBA Championship in 2019.
One-time rival Lance Stephenson will now be a teammate of James’ in LA, While the Lakers’ rumored acquisition of Paul George was shot down when he announce he would be staying in Oklahoma City. George was listed as +150 to stay in OKC but was a favorite to also move to LA.
