5 best games to watch for NFL Week 2 schedule

The NFL Week 2 slate is a solid one. Each conference has some key games coming up, ones that could play into who is hosting playoff games four months from now.

5. Philadelphia Eagles at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Eagles are 1-0 and looking for another NFC South opponent to beat, this time on the road. Tampa Bay was supposed to be the doormat of the division, but instead went into New Orleans and rolled the Saints, 48-40. The question now is whether that was simply a case of Week 1 being Week 1, or if the Buccaneers are going to contend in arguably the league’s toughest division. This one could tell us plenty moving forward.

4. Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons and Panthers both sustained some major injuries in their openers. Greg Olsen fractured his foot for the second straight year, putting the Carolina tight end on the shelf for at least two months if not the season. Meanwhile, the Falcons are now without safety Keanu Neal for the year due to a torn ACL, while Deion Jones is also on IR with a knee injury. Atlanta needs to win this one at home just to get to 1-1, while the Panthers could take a huge step toward the postseason with a victory, getting to 2-0.

3. Kansas City Chiefs at Pittsburgh Steelers

This should be incredible to watch. Patrick Mahomes, Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown, Travis Kelce, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins, Kareem Hunt… the list goes on and on. Can either defense force the other team to punt? Pittsburgh is trying to bounce back after a tie in Cleveland, while the surprising Chiefs are hoping to prove both they and their wunderkind quarterback are for real by winning in the Steel City for the first time since 1986.

2. New England Patriots at Jacksonville Jaguars

Here we have a rematch of the AFC Championship Game, although many still don’t believe in Jacksonville. Why? Because Blake Bortles stinks, and while the defense is great, it’s tough to win without a quarterback in 2018. If the Jaguars can knock off the Patriots at home and get to 2-0, they would have to feel very good. Conversely, a win by the Patriots almost assures any playoff rematch would be in Foxborough, considering the ease of New England’s schedule.

1. Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers

This one needs little explanation. The Packers and Vikings are the two best teams in the NFC North and whoever wins has a significant leg up. Furthermore, Minnesota could really put the screws to Green Bay by winning at Lambeau Field. The game means plenty for both, but the Packers must hold serve here.
