5 favorites to bet in NFL Week 4

We are already approaching NFL Week 4, with a great game on tap for Thursday with the Minnesota Vikings trying to rebound against the Los Angeles Rams.

If you’re into the betting game (and let’s face it, you’re on BettingSports, so there’s a good chance that’s the case) there are some juicy favorites to hit in the upcoming week. Here are five of the best to bet on in NFL Week 4. All lines are courtesy of OddsShark.

5. Green Bay Packers (-10)

The Packers are home against the Buffalo Bills, who just beat the hell out of the Minnesota Vikings, 27-6. So why bet the favorite here? Because lightning doesn’t strike twice, and the Bills aren’t going to play that well again all season. Additionally, the Packers are 0-1-1 in their last two games and now have to win to keep pace in the competitive NFC. Green Bay has more than enough firepower to take care of business here, and it will.

4. Pittsburgh Steelers (-3)

The Steelers are a mess in so many ways, but they are typically great at home, and terrific on primetime. This game combines both fo those factors with the Baltimore Ravens coming to Heinz Field on Sunday night. Pittsburgh finally got off the mat on Monday night, beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers despite taking 13 penalties. If head coach Mike Tomlin can get the Steelers to stop shooting themselves in the foot, they could get back into the race for another divisional title.

3. Indianapolis Colts (-1.5)

The Colts are only laying 1.5 points despite being at home against the sad sack Houston Texans. Houston should be a heck of a lot better than it is, but like Bill Parcells famously said, you are what your record says you are. The Texans haven’t been able to win a game and now go to Lucas Oil Stadium in hopes of getting back on the right track. However, Indianapolis has played very well in all three of its games, and Andrew Luck has to be better than he’s been. Look for the Colts to handle the Texans in their own building.

2. Los Angeles Chargers (-10.5)

The Chargers are at home against the San Francisco 49ers, sans Jimmy Garoppolo. Garoppolo tore his ACL in Kansas City on Sunday, and now it’s the C.J. Beathard show. Los Angeles typically doesn’t beat any good teams, but the Chargers have the ability to blow out the bad ones. Here comes a contest that falls in the latter category.

1. Kansas City Chiefs (-4.5)

This one is really simply. The Chiefs have covered the spread all three games so far, including twice on the road against better teams than the Denver Broncos. Conversely, the Broncos haven’t covered one, including a pair of home dates. Kansas City has Patrick Mahomes, who has thrown 13 touchdowns without an interception. The Broncos have Case Keenum, who has already chucked five interceptions. Case closed.
