NFL Week 6: 5 underdogs to bet on

The betting scene should be hopping in NFL Week 6, with a bunch of juicy lines to hit. We’ll get to the favorites in a few days. For now, though, here are five underdogs who should be live and a good gamble. For the record, give me all five underdogs straight up as well. The NFL Week 6 lines are courtesy of OddsShark.

5. Los Angeles Chargers at Cleveland Browns (+1)

Cleveland shouldn’t be an underdog in this game. The Browns are at home. Since Tyrod Taylor took a seat and Baker Mayfield began starting, the record is a very respectable 2-1. Los Angeles is only a half-game better in the standings. As well as that, it has to come almost across the country to play in the early window. Factor in the absence of Joey Bosa, and the Chargers might struggle to contain Mayfield.

4. Baltimore Ravens at Tennessee Titans (+3)

This line is a reaction to the disaster of a football game the Titans played on Sunday in their 13-12 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Make no mistake, the Titans were beyond atrocious (I watched the film, sadly) but they won’t play that poorly two weeks straight. The same can be said for Baltimore, although it is never as good on the road as it is at M&T Bank Stadium. Take the Titans and enjoy the afternoon watching Marcus Mariota and Joe Flacco fight it out.

3. Kansas City Chiefs (+3.5) at New England Patriots

The Chiefs are getting 3.5 points despite the fact that they average more than 30 points per game and are about to play the league’s slowest defense. Look, the Patriots are going to score a ton of points on Sunday night, but it may well not be enough to beat Patrick Mahomes and Co. Andy Reid has always done well against Bill Belichick in the regular season, and look for that trend to continue.

2. Indianapolis Colts (+2.5) at New York Jets

The Colts have been fighting hard, and now they have a mini-bye before playing the Jets in New York. The Jets aren’t a bad team, but they are very limited offensively and the defense is a little bit banged up. Andrew Luck has been nothing short of sensational the last two games, and I believe he continues that against New York. The Colts have a very good shot of winning this one.

1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+3.5) at Atlanta Falcons

This is simple: the Buccaneers are coming off a bye and have a ton of weapons, and the Falcons are missing half of their defensive stars. Atlanta is borderline dead on arrival these days at 1-4, and the Buccaneers know that it’s now or never, and certainly the same thing can be said for their quarterback, Jameis Winston. I’m not overly confident they win outright, but I love the cover.
