Warriors coach Steve Kerr calls Draymond Green’s injury ‘a little tweak’
The Golden State Warriors stumbled to a disappointing loss at home to the James Harden-less Houston Rockets on Saturday night.
It also featured All-Star forward Draymond Green suffering an ankle injury in the contest. Following the game, head coach Steve Kerr clarified that it was the same ankle that he had tweaked earlier in the game, according to Nick Friedell of ESPN.
“I talked to Draymond briefly and he said he thought he sprained the same one early in the game,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. “A little tweak. We’ll see. I don’t think it’s a really serious injury, but we’ll have an update [Sunday] I guess.”

Green’s injury occurred midway through the fourth quarter after he landed awkwardly on DeMarcus Cousins’ foot. He had immediately fallen down toward the Warriors’ bench. There, the team didn’t treat him until a few moments later.
Although it was an injury that forced Green out of Saturday’s game, he was able to play in Monday’s 121-110 win over the Charlotte Hornets. He put up a strong performance, almost registering a triple-double with 14 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds.

The fact that he was able to play just two days later shows that it wasn’t that serious of an injury for him. However, this is something that the team will continue to monitor moving forward this season.
Green has had well-rounded numbers averaging 7.1 points, 7.2 assists, and 7.5 rebounds while shooting 42.4 percent from the field and 24.5 from three-point range.
