Jon Gruden Disappointed Antonio Brown is Missing Practices

On Friday, Oakland Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown missed another day of practice. Head coach Jon Gruden admitted his frustration is growing over the amount of missed practice by the star receiver. Especially considering it is early in his first training camp with the Raiders.

Jon Gruden told reporters he thinks everyone is disappointed. He added that Brown is disappointed as well because everyone wants the party to start and have Brown on the practice field because he is such a big part of our team.

Jon Gruden added that coaches were excited about how some other receivers were developing.

Brown started the Raiders training camp on the team’s non-football injury list. He took part in Sunday’s pre-practice walk-through and was limited on Tuesday of this week in practice. On Tuesday night, Brown posted a photo of the sole’s of his feet that showed blisters and peeling skin.

The Raiders had Wednesday off, but Brown was not been seen at practice on Thursday or Friday.

Gruden told the media he wants Brown out on the practice field as quickly as possible. Gruden added he would love to see Brown in the huddle for every play.

The special teams coach for Oakland Rich Bisaccia said he wanted to see Brown field punts when he returns to practice. Brown has not returned punts since 2017 when with the Steelers. For his career, he has 186 punt returns for 1,759 yards with four touchdowns.

The idea for Bisaccia is Brown practices returning punts and the Raiders use the talented wide receiver as a backup to the team’s returner. The Special Team’s coach wants Brown prepared to step in if there is an injury or a change needs to be made.

However, nothing is happening at present with Brown not appearing at practice and no one is saying why the receiver is absent.
